Grim Omen

Russia fires a warning shot over the bow of Europe. The new version of gunboat diplomacy doesn't involve actual gunboats (well, maybe a few), but it has the same practical effect. Most industrialized countries wouldn't last a single winter without natural gas imports, and Russia is completely unapologetic about reminding the world about our precariously dependent state.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Cold War", doesn't it?
